Microsoft shows off Windows 7:
Microsoft debuted Window s 7, its newest desktop operating system at a recent conference. The release is only in prebeta stage and won’t arrive until early 2009, but developers at Microsoft’s PDC conference in Los Angeles got a first look at the new desktop.

Psystar announces Blu-Ray and the NVIDIA 9800GT for their Mac Clone offerings
The company proudly announced today that it is now shipping "Mac OS X-compatible PCs" with Blu-ray drives as well as NVIDIA 9800GT graphics cards. Why does anyone care? Psystar makes a point to say that it is introducing both of these technologies into Mac-compatible computers long before Apple has done so in its own machines:

Sony: Playstation 2 Now An Open Platform
Sony Europe's developer relations manager George Bain announce that it's no longer necessary for developers to submit upcoming titles to Sony for content approval, don't expect the PS2 to die off anytime soon. The platform is now open, and this action will certain spur on a spate of low-cost titles. Bain cited territories like Russia and India that are now able to "create low-development cost titles and release them in their market”. Dev kits are still an necessity, but there are no longer PS2 licensing fees.

Marvel Entertainment has just announced that Robert Downey Jr and Don Cheadle have signed on for both Iron Man 2 and The Avengers. Iron Man 2 director Jon Favreau will also executive produce The Avengers. As previously reported, Cheadle will be replacing Terrence Howard as Colonel James “Rhodey” Rhodes.
